City Plaza Circle and Center Islands

City Plaza Circle and Center Islands is a Registered Property, City of San Pablo, Laguna located at San Pablo City, Laguna, Region IV-A.

The town plaza was established in 1618-1626 by Father Hernando Cabrera who started with the development of the community, laid out the plans for a spacious town plaza in front of the churchyard, with provisions that public buildings would be constructed lining the streets, as well as private residences. The plaza became the center of social and commercial activities. Trading of goods and services were done along Calle Real during the day, Fiesta and processions, rendezvous or meeting place for friends and families.

June 19, 1911- the first monument of Dr. Jose Rizal was installed at the plaza circle; 1916-1918 – the plaza fountain was constructed; 1928-1930 – the colonial lamp posts and large concrete flower pots were installed inside the plaza circle and the center islands of Rizal Avenue down to the Central School area.
