The battle of Mt. Kalisungan/WW II Memorial Shrine was inaugurated in August 27, 2000 to commemorate the event on the historic spot on March 29, 1945 . Guerillas and American forces fought hard to drive away Japanese forces from the city during WWII.
The shrine construction was initiated by former Post Commander Esteban Biglete through the San Pablo City Development Council, Mayor Vicente B. Amante and Congressman Florante Aquino.
