Mangrove Swampland

Mangrove Swampland is a Registered Property, City of Bacoor, Cavite located at Bacoor City, Cavite, Region IV-A.

As part of the programs of Mayor Strike B. Revilla in environmental protection and management, a mangrove plantation was started in Pulo, Barangay Sineguelasan near Island Cove. Formerly planted with turnips in the past before it became a swampland. The mangrove area covered 40 hectares of swamp land. Almost 13 hectares were already planted with 132,00 propagules acquired from Sariaya, Quezon. The planting of propagules programs was implemented during the term of Barangay Chairman Nestor Ignacio. Aside from the protection of the environment, the mangroves serves as a shield to natural sea risks that maybe encountered by people living in the coastal areas. Migratory birds usually thrive in the mangroves during cold seasons. Crabs, shrimps, and snails are usually found in the mangrove plantations claimed by Mang Antonio, caretaker of the mangrove plantation. (Mr. Virgilio Flores, Bacoor Historical Society)
