Itinatag bilang Colegio de Instruccion Primaria y Latinidad nina Padre Juan Zita at Felino Gil, 4 Nobyembre 1861. Isa sa mga napiling paaralan ni Reyna Isabel II ng Espanya na magbukas ng sekondaryang antas, 1867. Nasunog at nagsara, 1869. Inayos, 1892. at binuksan bilang Escuela de Artes y Oficios de Bacolor, 1893. Nasunog noong Rebolusyon at nagsara 5 Hunyo 1898. Inayos, 1906, at binuksan bilang Provincial Arts and Trade School of Pampanga, 1907. Naging Paaralang Insular, 1912–1914. Naging kuwartel ng mga Hapon, 1942–1944, at sinunog, Disyembre 1944. Inayos, 1946. Ipinangalan sa karangalan ni Honorio Ventura, pilantropo at makabayan, 1964. Natabunan ng lahar dulot ng pagputok ng Bulkang Pinatubo, Oktubre 1995. Muling binuksan, Mayo 1996. Naging pambansang pamatasan, 2009.

Pampanga School of Arts and Trades
(Formerly Escuela de Artes y Oficios de Bacolor)

Founded 1861 by Fr. Juan P. Zita and Don Felino Gil on a site donated by the Suarez Sisters of Bacolor. Building was destroyed by fire 1869 and reconstructed 1892; used as: barracks for Filipino soldiers of the Spanish Army 1896; munitions factory 1897; Provincial Capitol of Pampanga 1901-1904; Pampanga Trade School, 1909; barracks for Japanese soldiers 1942-1944. Burnt in December 1944; rebuilt with U.S. Aid 1946.

This school was converted into a regional school of arts and trades 28 October 1956; building was destroyed again by fire 7 July 1958; reconstructed 1959.
