This cultural property is for adoration purposes especially to its Patron Saint, San Ildefonso (St. Ildephonse). Every 23rd day of January, the feast day of San Ildefonso is being celebrated by the residents and devotees of the Saint.
The St. Ildephonse Parish Church owned by the Archdiocese of Nueva Segovia is located in Poblacion East, San Ildefonso, Ilocos Sur and was built during the Spanish Era. However, the original structure of the said church is no longer its present view. The church was destroyed during the World War II and also by an earthquake during the same period. Furthermore, the residents and devotees of the church during that time did not have enough resources to replicate the church as per its original form and structure, so they were only able to construct a smaller version of it.
