The first secondary school and it was then located at the Pampanga Hotel, 1908. John W. Osborn was the Principal, the first graduate was in the year 1912. Pres. Diosdado P. Macapagal was among its Alumni. Demetrio Andres was the First Filipino Principal, 1935. Named Jose Abad Santos 1966, and renamed Pampanga high School 1991. The Pampanga High School is the biggest public high school in Pampanga. Its early roots can be traced back to 1902 when the Americans established the first high school in San Fernando. But due to the lack of students who made it to senior year, students were forced to finish the secondary education elsewhere. So it was not until 1912 that the first class graduated from the Pampanga High School.
The restored main building is actually the second one since there was an earlier Gabaldon building completed around 1908 together with the Pampanga Capitol building. When the current building was completed in 1935, it Was used by the University of the Philippines Extension Program in San Fernando, Pampanga.

Itinatag sa San Fernando, Pampanga, 1902. Pansamantalang nagdaos ng klase sa Gusaling Buison hanggang malipat sa bagong gusali malapit sa Kapitolyo, 1908. Nagtapos ang unang pangkat ng mga mag-aaral, 1912. Dito nagtapos ng sekondaryang edukasyon ang Pangulong Diosdado P. Macapagal, 1929. Demetrio Andres, unang Pilipinong punong-guro, 1935. Pinangalanang Jose Abad Santos High School, 18 Hunyo 1964. Ibinalik sa dating pangalan, 1 Abril 1992.
