Palaui Island Protected Landscape and Seascape is a Registered Property, Province of Cagayan located at Santa Ana, Cagayan, Region II.

Palaui’s marine and coastal resources includes mangroves, coral reefs, sea grasses and algal beds.
Mangrove species found in the area include: Bakawan lalake, Bakawan Babae, Api-api, Talisai, Dungonlate, Bungalon, Nipa, Langarai, Sapinit, Mangasiriki.
Monastrea, seriatopora, favites, acropora, favia, caulastria, heliopore, ganastria, leptoria, merulina, porites, plategyra, soft coral, meliopora, paciliopora, isophylia are the different coral species sighted in the island seawaters.
The island is abundant with seagrasses, seaweeds and algal beds. Among the species identified are Cymodea Rotundata, Thalasia hemprichii, Enhalus acoroides, Siringoidium isoetifolium, Halophilia ovalis, Haladule unixercis, G. coronopifolia and halimeda sp.
The island’s 2,078.5 has. Forest area is a home for both endemic and migratory species. Endemic species include the Philippine monkeys, wild pigs, marine turtles and various migratory birds species.
Also, the island serves as the first significant area of mudflats for shore birds crossing the Bashi Channel and Luzon Strait from Taiwan.
Above all, it is in the island that FARO de CABO de Engaño be found- an old Spanish lighthouse which is very significant on marine history of the area.
The Palaui Island Protected Landscape and Seascape is one of the primary tourist destination in Northern Luzon. The island is said to be pristine but accessible. The island also serve as location for the famous “SURVIVOR” series like the episode entitled SURVIVOR Blood and Water and SURVIVOR Cagayan in 2013.
In 2010, the Palaui Island was declared by CNN as one of the TOP TEN BEACHES IN THE WHOLE WORLD because of its raw beauty.
Recently, it was awarded as the PARA EL MAR 3rd Best NIPA’s MPA at Iloilo city last September 19, 2017.
