Nassiping Church Ruins

Nassiping Church Ruins is a Registered Property, Province of Cagayan located at Gattaran, Cagayan, Region II.

One of the most prominent churches of Gattaran is located in Barangay Nassiping. The Nassiping Church Ruins is sited along the high way. Observing outside of the church, the church is facing the river whichis surrounded by plants and trees, consider also the pure bricks wall with plants on it. Majority of the structure has been severely damaged, but the sides and the bell tower are still remaining intact. The Nassiping Church Ruins is still used as a chapel by the townspeople to this day. Today, the Nassiping Church is considered as one of the historical places in Gattaran and still being attended by fanatic churchgoers even if some parts were severely damaged.
It is believed that the Spaniard Dominicans built the Nassiping Church. Over the years, all churches werefacing the river and one of it is the Nassiping Church. During World War II, Nassiping Church was the hide out of the Spaniards, but when the Americans decided to invade the Spaniards,the war had blown until the Church was ruined.
