Dr. Jose Rizal Statue

Dr. Jose Rizal Statue is a Registered Property, Province of Cagayan located at Tuao, Cagayan, Region II.

The statue’s height is almost 5 ft.( nearing to the actual height of Dr. Jose Rizal), it is possibly made out of cement. In the statue, Dr. Jose Rizal is wearing a black coat, black pants and black shoes and holding a pen on his right hand (lifted, shoulder level). On his left side is a pillar (waist level) where he put his left hand. The statue has a base with 12 ft. high.
The area where the statue constructed is in circular form where the replica of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao are found. Each of the three replicas is represented by a mother and two children holding books and pens. Ornamental plants are found at the frontal of the statue. Moreover, an artificial water fall was constructed in front of the statue adjacent to the base about 4 ft. in height.
Surrounding the statue in the eastern part is a 4- room building where the Session Hall, Municipal Trial Court, Public Prosecutor office and Regional Trial Court Branch II. In the western is the old Municipal Hall and it is now the Municipal Admin Office and Local Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office/Action Center (task force lingkod bayan). In the front side is the Philippine Flag Poll and New Municipal Hall and in the south is the SB Building Office/Office.
The statue was completed in the year 1933 lead by President Marcos Anguluan as inscribed in the monument. According to Ms. Danica Laoagan every June 12 (Independence Day) and every December 30 (Rizal Day) programs are held in commemoration of Rizal are undertaken in front of statue.
