Mamba Ancestral House has been bulit more than 100 years ago after World War II. This spanish residence gained hisstorical significance when made seat of Cagayan Provincial Government during the war by then Governor Marcelo H. Adduru. It is situated at Barangay Alabug, Tuao West, Cagayan. It was owned first by an old spanish woman who resided in the said house ultil she was 75 then she decided to sell it to Francisco N. Mamba who was a mayor of the Municipality at that time. The house is a structure manifesting the presenceof the Spaniards in Tuaoin the early 1900. During the term of the Mayor Francisco N. Mamba in 1958-1971. The house was used in welcoming prominent political leaders like Elpidio Quirino, Carlos Garcia, Diosdado Macapagal, Ferdinand Marcos and Fidel V. Ramos. It was also used by the familly during social gatherings or during feast where they prepare a bonquet of food for guest. However, prior to the occupancy, the Mamba's according to the interview made, the ground floor was used by the Itawes National Agricultural School for several years due to the lack of rooms and also used a First Instance Court. The Terrace of the house was used as a receiving area and served as playground of the 8 Mamba children. The house has 3 rooms in the second floor, master's bedroom was used by Mr and Mrs. Francisco K. Mamba Sr., however, since the two rooms are not enough for the children they had to lay a Banig in the sala for them to sleep on at night. There is lso a portion in the sala where the antique collections of Mrs. Estelita Nuveno Mamba were displayed. The first floor was also used as quarters by the guards and as a storage of goods. The backyard of the ancestral house was then a citrus plantation and a deep well can be found in the same area which was the main source of water for the family. A century old Mango Tree can also be seen near the deepwell. The kitchen was separated from the main house which manifests that the said structure was built during the Spanish Regime. Beside the kitchen is the family's restroom. The ancestral house has been used by the Mamba family until October last year and was vacated after the typhoon Lawin because of the damages caused by the said calamity.The total land area where the house was located is more or less 1 hectare.
