Ancheta House is a Registered Property, Province of Cagayan located at Claveria, Cagayan, Region II.
The Heritage House was established by the late Mr. and Mrs. Jose Ancheta in 1925. At present, their daughter Ms. Elisa Ancheta (Retired Elementary School Teacher) is now the owner and preserved its natural status.
The 1920’s two-storey house is generally done in a neoclassical revival style with a few Spanish Colonial elements. There’s not much to see or take in (nothing grand), but it feels nice to be in a place that probably hasn’t changed much in more than 90 years. It has a lovely facade and charming interiors that can instantly take you to a different era. On the ground floor where the main living room and kitchen are located consist of stone and masonry materials while on the upper floor has 3 bedrooms individually furnished with antique cabinets, chairs that are dominated with wooden materials (narek and narra), capiz shell windows and steeply pitched roof. About 60% of the structure and interiors are from its original design with furniture, dressers, and memorabilia such as old photos, books and more.
