Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe was founded in 1687. Fr. Agustin de la Magdalena, first curate, original chapel of bamboo and nipa reconstructed, 1690, under the direction of Miguel Guan-co and Alguacil Mayor Alonzo Garcia. Improved 1853 by Fr. Joaquin de Coria. Transept added, 1872 by Fr. Serafin Linares and Fr. Cipriano Bac. Damaged during World War II.
