Plaza Salcedo was the execution site of Gabriela Silang in September of 1763. She was the first woman leader of the Philippine Revolution who was publicly hanged there to serve as a warning to the restive populace. A monument stands on this strategic gap, 5,250 feet above sea level. It is transversed by Highway 4, west of the town of Cervantes.
