As the biggest park strategically located in the middle of the city, Ricarte Park is a choice venue for public activities. The biggest of these events happen on two annual occasions: the birth and death anniversaries of General Artemio Ricarte. During the death anniversary, a flag raising ceremony and wreath-laying ritual is conducted by the office of the Ricarte National Shrine in partnership with the City Government of Batac. His birth anniversary is also marked by a parade, program and wreath-laying ceremony. Half of his remains were interred here and the other half was interred in Libingan ng mga Bayani.
