Balai na Ilagan

Balai na Ilagan is a Registered Property, City of Ilagan, Isabela located at Ilagan City, Isabela, Region II.

The old structure built in the late 17th century as residence for Spanish Missionaries and later became a catholic convent of Franciscan Nuns was made of wood. The present structure is made of concrete to withstand the recurring forces of nature. An ornate wooden door from the old convent carved with flowers and intricate details has been restored and is still used in the main entrance of the building while wall-to-wall murals of forest scenes painted by local artists adorn the interiors of the Balai.

In 2006, the old convent was totally renovated and transformed from a Spanish-era convent to a modern solid structure to provide a space to nurture artistic talents of IlagueƱos.
