Municipal Library had a modest beginning. Municipal employees agreed to pool various reference books and reading materials in their respective offices and decided to open a small library in the office of the mayor. It was in the year 1958 that the library of Camalig was constructed through Congressman Justino Nuyda Sr. Books, magazines and other reading materials were supplied by the National Library and donated by donors coming from United States, Japan, Korea, Asia Foundation and Thomas Jefferson.
