The old church of Paroquin de San Luis Gonzaga was made of hard wood and was destroyed by typhoon on 1933-34. The main structure was rebuilt in 1974 and the facade in 2011. In June 2011, through the donation of the Catholic faithfuls, the St. Aloysius Gonzaga parish Church remains to be the center of Catholicism in the municipality since its founding in June 1845. It has been served by 58 parish priests in succession from its first parish priest, Rev. Fr. Bonifacio Estebez.
