Founded in 1960, the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) is a non-profit research organization dedicated to reducing poverty and hunger through the development of sustainable rice production systems. Located in UP College, Los Banos, Laguna, in the Laguna Region 4 of the Philippines, IRRI collaborates with partners around the world to improve the productivity and sustainability of rice farming. With a mission to empower farmers and nourish the world, IRRI conducts cutting-edge research and provides training and technical assistance to farmers, policymakers, and other stakeholders in the rice value chain.
