Scientists for Health and Research for Development is a project of the Center for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and funded by the NWO (Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research). It is a digital network based on validated information about ongoing medical and health related research, researchers and institutions. Its main objectives include making health related information available on the web in order to promote cooperation and exchange of information and technology among health related organizations, to support South-South cooperation and to avoid duplication of efforts in solving common health problems.
SHARED uses advanced web technology that allows searching through decentralized databases using an automatic indexing process, the Collexis FingerPrinting. The software enables rapid abstraction of concepts based on validated knowledge, creating a Conceptual Fingerprint (CFP) from any form of electronic text.
